Lower Eyre

The Lower Eyre offers visitors some of the most unique experiences available in Australia. 

The vibrant City of Port Lincoln acts as the centre of the Lower Eyre with the towns of Tumby Bay, Cummins and Coffin Bay all within a 45 minute drive.

With a visit to Port Lincoln you begin to understand why the Eyre Peninsula has been rightly named Australia’s Seafood Frontier.  This city supports the largest fishing fleet in the Southern Hemisphere and produces some of the world’s leading seafood including Southern Blue Fin Tuna and Hiramasa Kingfish.

The association with the ocean doesn’t end with seafood, Port Lincoln is home to a number of iconic marine wildlife experiences including swimming with Southern Blue Fin Tuna, the Australian Sea Lion and the ultimate experience of swimming with the Great White Shark.

The Lower Eyre also boasts some of the most stunning National Parks in the region both Port Lincoln National Park and Coffin Bay National Park contain some of the most spectacular coastal scenery from endless white beaches, stunning sand dunes and crystal clear waters.  A landscape that is home to large populations of Australian native wildlife.

Whilst in this area be sure to take the drive to Coffin Bay to explore this beautiful coastal town and the waters most famous for producing the “Coffin Bay Oyster”, you can’t leave without tasting one straight from the ocean.
